What motivates people to want to live abroad? Better weather, a lower cost of living and less stress are three points in a longer list of factors that affect people's decision to live abroad.
Better Weather
Good weather motivates countless individuals in their aim to live abroad and why not indeed. Good weather invariably affects people positively and enjoying life abroad with lots of friendly locals is something for which many would envy you.
If your bones are older than the rest of your body :-) then you might have problems with arthritis and will appreciate living in a dry climate, maybe at a higher altitude. Whilst an experimental drug that may ease arthritic symptoms has just been announced, you might prefer living abroad in a dryer climate until it has been further developed. There is no telling how long that might take but by then, you possibly will not want to return.
Lower Cost of Living
Dozens of countries overseas have a lower cost of living than so-called First World countries. If your Dollar, Euro or Yen goes further by living abroad, then why not test the easier life?
Less Stress
To some people, living abroad conjures up the idea of palm filled beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. That can be so depending on where you choose to live overseas. Getting out of the rat race and moving to a less stressful environment is a prime motivator for some and less stress is certainly healthier. A recent article entitled "Escape the rat race - reduce stress, save money and lose weight" gives pointers to scientific research on this theme.
To be continued.
